Strangely, the Biden administration appears to be at war with Governor Greg Abbott and the state of Texas.
As northern Democrat-run cities are declaring that managing the influx of immigrants is untenable, frustrated southern state leaders have begun to take matters into their own hands.
Notably, officials estimate that more than 8 million illegal immigrants have crossed the southern border into America since President Biden took office. Northern cities such as New York, Boston, Denver, and Chicago have received a mere fraction of the number southern states have been forced to manage.
Federal data shows that Border Patrol agents reported more than 2.2 million encounters in 2022, with many crossings going unreported.
All regions where immigration has spiked have reported a corresponding spike in overdoses and crime—including gang activity, fentanyl transport, and human trafficking.
In recent months, Texas has moved to repair and extend border walls, establish river barriers, and set up razor wire to discourage illegal immigration. The Biden administration has resisted these moves—the Department of Justice has brought multiple legal suits against the state.
In a 4-3 ruling this week, the U.S. Supreme Court sided with Biden administration officials who argued Texas officials could not block federal Border Patrol officers from entering key areas and cutting or removing barriers and razor wire.
Positioning for a showdown, on Wednesday, Gov. Abbott defended his position and reaffirmed that Texans had a “constitutional right to self-defense.” Abbott maintains the Supreme Court does not have the authority to order the Texas National Guard to remove barriers to deter illegal immigration.
A provocative video (quickly making the rounds on social media) appears to show Texas authorities continuing to set up razor wire in the Eagle Pass area. The brief video has garnered more than 730,000 views in less than 24 hours.

Gov. released a statement in which he reiterated the words of James Madison, Alexander Hamilton, and other Founding Fathers:
“The federal government has broken the compact between the United States and the States. The Executive Branch of the United States has a constitutional duty to enforce federal laws protecting States, including immigration laws on the books right now. President Biden has ignored Texas’s demand that he perform his constitutional duties.”
“James Madison, Alexander Hamilton, and the other visionaries who wrote the U.S. Constitution foresaw that States should not be left to the mercy of a lawless president who does nothing to stop external threats like cartels smuggling millions of illegal immigrants across the border.”
Citing Article IV Section 4 of the Constitution, Abbott continued, “The federal government “shall protect each [State] against invasion” and Article I, Section 10, Clause 3 which says the states have a “sovereign interest in protecting their borders.”
Justifying his action to protect the southern border, Abbot wrote: “The failure of the Biden Administration to fulfill the duties imposed by Article IV, § 4 has triggered Article I, § 10, Clause 3, which reserves to this State the right of self-defense. For these reasons, I have already declared an invasion under Article I, § 10, Clause 3 to invoke Texas’s constitutional authority to defend and protect itself.”
“That authority is the supreme law of the land and supersedes any federal statutes to the contrary. The Texas National Guard, the Texas Department of Public Safety, and other Texas personnel are acting on that authority, as well as state law, to secure the Texas border.”
Some suggest that provocateurs in the government desire a civil conflict. Fearful speculation of possibilities are is on the rise.

What do you think comes of this?
IMO: Biden will continue to send feds to jockey for authority at the border, and Texas National Guard will continue to remain in… pic.twitter.com/MB1GjyqHZZ
