Professional boxer Ryan Garcia pledged he would donate $20 million to humanitarian causes in Gaza after his fight with Devin Haney; following this, retired kickboxer Andrew Tate said he would match his donation.
Garcia (25-1, 20 KOs) was ruled as the winner of the fight but the judges, but was not allowed to claim the victory nor Haney’s WBC junior welterweight title due to weighing in over 143.2 pounds Friday. While Haney retains the champion title, Garcia achieved the career-best win, having knocked out the number 6 pound-for-pound boxer according to ESPN.

Independent journalist Sulaiman Ahmed reported that Garcia was pledging $20 million to Gaza, a claim that Garcia had made in early March. “I’ll give 20 million dollars to help and support Gaza out after my next fight,” Garcia wrote.

Patrick Bet-David commended Garcia’s performance, and suggested his wild social media posting over the past several weeks was a strange form of publicity.

Haney was super focused during training camp but his best doesn’t match up with Ryan.
Tough loss.
Very strange way of promoting a fight but props to @RyanGarcia for a BIG WIN!
