Ye, the rap artist formerly known as Kanye West, is reportedly in the process of launching his own adult film studio sometime this summer, even enlisting a long-time porn producer to run the operation. West’s shocking career pivot into X-rated entertainment—currently under the working title “Yeezy Porn”—comes after years of the artist condemning the harmful effects of the industry based on his own lifelong battles with pornography addiction.
First reported by TMZ, representatives for West indicate that the rapper has been in communication with porn mogul Mike “Moz” Mosny to head up the new business venture. Moz has worked as an adult film producer, art director, and talent caster since the mid-2000s—and he was also previously married to porn star Stormy Daniels, who is currently at the center of a criminal fraud trial against former President Donald Trump in New York.
Although sources indicate that West has been toying with the idea of entering the pornography industry for quite some time—and was in fact even offered a chance to direct a film in 2018—he has not made any moves to incorporate it into the larger Yeezy brand until now.
West’s unexpected foray into adult entertainment stands in stark contrast with his past statements about pornography’s harmful effects on society and the human soul.
In a 2019 interview, the infamously unpredictable musician openly described himself as a porn addict, saying that his fixation on sexualized content began when he was just five years old.
“For me, Playboy was my gateway into full-on pornography addiction. My dad had a Playboy left out at age five and it’s affected almost every choice I made for the rest of my life,” he told Beats 1 Radio host Zane Lowe. “From age five till now, having to kick the habit and it just presents itself in the open like it’s OK and I stand up and say: ‘No, it’s not OK.’”
During his highly-publicized divorce from Kim Kardashian in 2021, West repeatedly mentioned that his porn addiction had “destroyed his family” and contributed to the separation. He was also reportedly critical of Kardashian wearing revealing clothing in public. However, West, who has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder, is also rumored to be the one encouraging his current wife Bianca Censori to wear shockingly provocative outfits that frequently leave her breasts and genitals partially or completely exposed, making his stance on the issue somewhat unclear.
On other occasions, West has denounced Hollywood as “a giant brothel,” and warned that Instagram “promotes it.” In 2022, during a public fall from grace amid accusations of antisemitism, West appeared on InfoWars with host Alex Jones, where he again warned about the harmful effects of porn addiction and the industry’s ties to pedophilia.
Shortly thereafter, West was hit with allegations of creating a “sexualized” work environment at his show company, where he was said to have frequently shown employees hardcore pornography as some kind of intimidation tactic.
