Judge Bruce Reinhart, who infamously signed off the search warrant to raid Mar-a-Lago, is shown by a newly released affidavit to have authorized an egregious pressure campaign to get a witness in the classified documents case to “flip” on former President Donald Trump.
Department of Justice attorney Jay Bratt, who is a member of Special Prosecutor Jack Smith’s team, submitted warrants for highly invasive searches for witness Walt Nauta to Judge Reinhart, who promptly authorized them, as revealed by the affidavit.
Nauta is accused of moving boxes of classified documents at Donald Trump’s behest and misleading prosecutors. He faces, along with Trump, five counts of concealing or withholding documents and taking part in a conspiracy to obstruct justice, which carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison. He has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
As demonstrated by the newly released affidavit, the controversial judge signed off on an egregious pressure campaign that effectively intimidated the witness and violated his privacy rights.
Legal analyst and court reporter Julie Kelly explained how the pressure tactics should be seen through the prism of Bratt attempting to get Nauta to “flip” on Donald Trump.

“In recently filed affidavit in classified docs case, a dirty cop from the corrupt Washington FBI field office asks Dem donor/Epstein defender Judge Bruce Reinhart to sign a warrant to get the cell phones of Walt Nauta, one of Trump’s personal aides,” she explained.
“Why? For moving boxes and allegedly giving inconsistent statements to authorities about boxes,” she continued, adding, “Reinhart of course also signed the Mar-a-Lago search warrant. Everywhere you turn in this case, it gets dirtier and dirtier.”
“HOLY SH*T: Reinhart also signed off on a warrant to search NAUTA’S CAR,” she remarked. “Like he’s a drug dealers or child trafficker. This was all about DOJ’s degenerate midget Jay Bratt attempting to torment Nauta into flipping on Trump.”
“And Nauta’s residence,” she went on. “FBI started targeting Nauta in May 2022. Bratt/DOJ wanted Nauta to flip and become a cooperating witness against Trump.”
“During a separate witness FBI interview, one FBI agent asked the witness about Nauta’s general state of mind and if he was seeing anyone at the time,” she noted.
“And Nauta’s email account. The House Judiciary Committee needs to get the name of the WFO agent responsible for this,” she commented.
“And everything associated with his devices on Apple including messages, photos and his music library,” she said. “F*cking outrageous abuse of power.”
Judge Reinhart is an Obama-donor who is implicated in the Epstein cover-up. The New York Times explains in a piece that actually seeks to exonerate and defend Reinhart.
He also served for 11 years as a federal prosecutor in the U.S. attorney’s office for the Southern District of Florida.
His time there coincided with the investigation of Jeffrey Epstein, a wealthy financier who was accused of luring teenage girls to his Palm Beach mansion and sexually abusing them.
Mr. Epstein was allowed to plead guilty to lesser charges and avoid a lengthy prison sentence in a plea agreement the Justice Department later acknowledged showed “poor judgment.” Mr. Reinhart has denied participating in the investigation. Shortly after leaving the Justice Department in late 2008, he went into private practice, where he represented some of Mr. Epstein’s employees who had been accused of facilitating sex trafficking. In court filings, Mr. Reinhart denied that he had done anything improper, stating in a sworn affidavit that he had not participated in his office’s investigation of Mr. Epstein and had no special knowledge that would aid his defense of Ms. Kellen. The false accusations, he said, disparaged his character.
A second judge was involved in the Department of Justice campaign to pressure Nauta: DC Chief Judge Beryl Howell, an Obama appointee.
Bratt went to Howell to get a warrant to get all information stored at Google related to Nauta’s accounts.
Howell also authorized a search for all of the data on Nauta’s cellphone.
As noted by Kelly, “Among Howell’s other abuses are signing a warrant sought by Jack Smith to get Trump’s Twitter data and an NDO preventing Twitter from notifying Trump as well as piercing attorney-client privilege to help Smith get all of Trump lawyer Evan Corcoran’s records.”
These kinds of dirty tactics have become all-too-commonplace among Trump’s prosecutors and their enablers on the bench. The political prosecutions of Donald Trump are a criminal conspiracy hiding in plain sight.
