Donald Trump caught two victories from the celebrity world on Monday, with “SlutWalk” model Amber Rose endorsing him via Instagram and Cardi B confirming she will not be endorsing Joe Biden for president this year.
“Trump 2024 USUSUS,” Rose wrote on a photo of her posing with Trump and his wife Melania at a black tie event.
Rose was once referred to as a “populist slut hero” for her activism in the pro-feminist and anti-slut shaming world. She hosted the 2015 “SlutWalk” that saw women and other activists marching around with signs that read “My Pussy, My Choice” to protest against perceived “systemic” sexual harassment on college campuses and in society generally. Kanye West, who previously dated Rose, mocked her at the time by saying she planned to raise her son with rapper with Wiz Khalifa to be a “male feminist.” Rose even started the Amber Rose Foundation and raised at least $50,000 to “promote discussion about women’s rights and equality issues.”
Many former fans jumped into Rose’s comments to express anger with her post. “OK baby, but I don’t wanna hear you say you stand in solidarity with the LGBTQ because you don’t,” wrote one. “this is wild …. If you for Trump you’re not for black folks make sure yall hit that unfollow button,” said another. “Imagine being an ‘advocate’ for women’s rights and endorsing Trump and his party who reversed Roe V Wade,” said a third. Bob the Drag Queen, a reality television personality and comedian known for winning the eighth season of RuPaul’s “Drag Race” show, wrote, “AMBER?!?!?! WTF.”
Meanwhile, rapper Cardi B said in a recent interview with Rolling Stone that she would not be endorsing President Joe Biden (nor Donald Trump, for that matter) because, in her words, “I feel like people got betrayed.”
Last November, Cardi B had said she would never endorse a presidential candidate ever again. In March, she told radio host Big Boy that he wouldn’t vote in the 2024 election. In 2020, Cardi had endorsed Bernie Sanders and then later Joe Biden as they took on Donald Trump. Now, she tells Rolling Stone she “don’t fuck with both of y’all n*****.”
“It’s just like, damn, y’all not caring about nobody,” she continued. “Then, it really gets me upset that there is solutions to it. There is a solution. I know there’s a solution because you’re spending billions of dollars on any fucking thing.” The Rolling Stone reporter said Cardi told them she had seen Trump as a “threat” but also has felt “layers and layers of disappointment” from incompetence at home and abroad, citing cost of living, low wages, and little effort in the way of alleviating the economic burdens of working class Americans.
