The FBI has raided a business and offices owned by George Soros-funded Mississippi prosecutor Jody Owens.

Federal law enforcement officials raided the premises on Wednesday.

Owens serves as the Hinds County district attorney.

His campaign was heavily funded by Democrat megadonor Soros.

FBI agents seized evidence at Downtown Cigar Company in Jackson, which is owned by Owens.

Owens’ offices at the Hinds County Courthouse were also raided by the FBI, WLBT reported.

In a statement, FBI Public Information Officer Marshay Lawson said:

“The FBI is executing federal search warrants at the multiple locations.

“The affidavit in support of the search warrants has been sealed by the court and so I am prohibited from commenting further.

“There is no threat to public safety.”

FBI agents reportedly examined and seized items found in the downtown Jackson business owned by Owens.

The entrance for the Downtown Cigar Company on Pearl Street was blocked off with crime scene tape.

Another business next door, Downtown Daiquiri and Pizza, also was surrounded by law enforcement agents.

One FBI agent told the Clarion Ledger he had been standing outside of Owens’ business for “a couple hours.”

Along with the FBI, Capitol Police was also on the scene.

Just after 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Owens released a statement on his Facebook page confirming FBI agents came to his office at the Hinds County Courthouse.

Read the statement below:

“This morning, FBI agents came to our office,” the statement reads.

“We are fully cooperating with their efforts.

“The Hinds County District Attorney’s Office is fully functioning and continues its work on behalf of the citizens of Hinds County.

“That has been and will continue to be our primary focus.

“Currently, we have no further statements.”

Owens, a Democrat, previously served as the chief policy counsel, according to his website.

He was also the managing attorney for the Southern Poverty Law Center’s Mississippi Office.

Soros-backed district attorneys are often the focus of intense criticism because of their selective enforcement of the law.

Their woke, soft-on-crime policies are part of their bid to reshape the criminal justice system to suit Soros’ radical agenda.

In almost every case, crime soars in the districts controlled by Soros-funded prosecutors.
