Authorities in New York City are reportedly preparing to revoke President Donald Trump’s gun license in response to his recent conviction.
According to CNN, the New York City Police Department (NYPD) is preparing to revoke Trump’s license to carry a gun.
The plan was reportedly revealed by a senior police official who spoke with the anti-Trump outlet.
Trump’s New York concealed carry license was quietly suspended on April 1, 2023.
The suspension occurred following his indictment on politically motivated charges in New York.
On March 31, 2023, two of the three pistols he was licensed to carry were turned over to the NYPD.
According to the same source, the third gun listed on Trump’s license was “lawfully moved to Florida.”
After Trump was convicted of 34 felonies on May 30, 2024, he could potentially be in violation of multiple state and federal laws if he still possesses that third gun in Florida.
Under federal law, specifically the Gun Control Act of 1968, it is illegal for a “convicted felon” to own or possess a firearm or ammunition.
The senior police official reportedly told CNN that the NYPD’s Legal Bureau is set to complete an investigation “that will likely lead to revocation of his license.”
Trump has the right to seek a hearing challenging the revocation, however.
The leftist news outlet added:
“Trump has had a license from the NYPD to carry a concealed firearm for more than a decade, according to multiple law enforcement sources, but because Trump’s application came with a request for confidentiality, they are exempt from public records requests, according to the NYPD’s guidelines and New York state law.
“The suspension and pending revocation of his carry license suggests that he maintained his license the entire time of his presidency, and after, until he was charged with multiple felonies for falsifying business records in March 2023.
“As a former president, Trump has full-time US Secret Service protection.”
The news comes as the Democrats continue to revel in Trump being labeled a “convicted felon.”
While the conviction will likely be overturned on appeal, Trump’s opponents will be free to use the smear until he’s cleared, which would unlikely happen before Election Day.
As expected, Biden has now predictably started trotting out the same “convicted felon” line.
During a Monday night campaign speech, Biden declared that his “clearly unhinged” Republican rival somehow “snapped” after the 2020 election.
Biden used the “hush money” case to claim his moral high ground while addressing a campaign event at the private residence of a wealthy Democrat donor couple in Greenwich, Connecticut.
The Democrat president used much of his speech to smear his 2024 presidential rival, the Independent reports.
“This guy does not deserve to be president, whether or not I’m running,” Biden warned the crowd.
He then told his audience the nation’s justice is under threat.
“Folks, the campaign entered uncharted territory last week,” Biden said.
“For the first time in American history, a former president that is a convicted felon is now seeking the office of the presidency.
“But as disturbing as that is, more damaging is the all-out assault Donald Trump is making on the American system of justice.”
Biden continued by claiming that Trump has launched an “all-out assault” on the justice system.
According to Biden, this “assault” is in revenge for his criminal conviction.
He argued that it is “reckless and dangerous” for Trump and his conservative allies to say the verdict was rigged “just because they don’t like the outcome.”
The Democrat president conveniently chose to ignore previous accusations made against him personally.
