Nancy Pelosi Takes Responsibility for National Guard Failure on Jan. 6th

In secret footage shared by the Oversight Subcommittee, former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is seen saying on January 6th, 2021 that she bears responsibility for not having the National Guard ready to deal with the events that unfolded at the US Capitol.

“Since January 6, 2021, Nancy Pelosi spent 3+ years and nearly $20 million creating a narrative to blame Donald Trump,” the Subcommittee wrote.

“You’re going to ask me — in the middle of the thing when they’ve already breached the inaugural stuff — ‘should we call … the National Guard?’” Pelosi is heard asking her chief of staff Terri McCullough in the SUV on the way to Fort McNair. “Why weren’t the National Guard there to begin with?”

The footage was reportedly shot by her daughter, Alexandra Pelosi, for an HBO documentary. The tape was solicited by Congressional Republicans to build their case to determine the causes behind the Jan. 6th riot.
