On Sunday, June 23, WFLA reported that the Tampa Holiday Inn shooting killed one person and injured three others. The victims were apparently trying to Foolio, whose real name was Charles Jones, had celebration as his “best birthday ever,” the RapUP website said. The rapper’s girlfriend expressed her grief on Twitter, stating, “Y’all took my boyfriend from me. I hate you all, and I won’t be the only one crying.”

The Tampa police are presently examining the circumstances of the incident. There have been no arrests made at this time.
Foolio has recently made headlines after filing a lawsuit against UF Health Jacksonville, the RapUP website reported. In December 2023, he claimed that after being shot in October, a nurse at the hospital divulged his whereabouts, causing his stay to terminate prematurely. He revealed this during an interview with the “No Jumper” podcast, noting that the nurse was later dismissed.
In response to Foolio’s death, social media users emphasized his contentious background. Comments on a Say Cheese TV post alluded to his past of disparaging deceased folks in his music. One user remarked, “Fam dropped his location like he didn’t diss 40 dead people. They got family members, too.” Another user noted the irony, mentioning a previous
incident involving rapper Yungeen Ace, where three people were killed, and Foolio had mocked their deaths, according to the website’s report.
