Barron Trump Receives Standing Ovation at Florida Rally

Barron Trump, the youngest son of former President Donald Trump, received a standing ovation at a campaign rally last night in Doral, Florida. His father suggested it was his debut appearance in the world of politics.

“A son can be any age and he’ll still be your boy,” Trump said to the crowd. “And he’s a very special guy. BARRON. TRUMP.”

“A very young man who is now going to college — got into every college he wanted to and he made his choice,” Trump continued. “He’s a very good guy.” A few months ago, The Daily Beast had said Barron was applying to NYU, and on a different occasion Trump said Barron was interested in attending the Wharton School of Finance at the University of Pennsylvania, Trump’s alma matter.

“That’s the first time he’s done it,” Trump said after he stood and waved to the crowd. “You’re pretty popular, I think. He might be more popular than Don and Eric! We gotta talk about this—hey Don, we gotta talk about this.”

Don Jr. (46) and Eric (40) have been involved with their father’s political journey since the beginning, when he declared his first campaign in 2015.

“Welcome to the scene, Barron!” he joked. “I don’t know. He had such a nice, easy life, now it’s a little bit changed. Anyway—he’s a special guy, right?”

In May, Trump had said Barron likes to give him political advice. “He’s a little on the tall side. I will tell you, he’s a tall one, but he is a good-looking guy. And he’s really been a great student. And he does like politics. It’s sort of funny,” Trump told “Kayal and Company” on Philadelphia’s Talk Radio 1210 WPHT. “He’ll tell me sometimes, ‘Dad, this is what you have to do.’”

Barron was scheduled to serve as a Florida delegate to the Republican National Convention (RNC) in July, and was to appear alongside Eric, Don Jr., his half-sister Tiffany, and Jr.’s fiancée Kimberly Guilfoyle. It was later announced that Barron would no longer be going to the RNC due to “prior commitments.” His mother Melania has been keen to keep him out of the spotlight.

One Trump campaign member further revealed to Politico that Barron “is very interested in our nation’s political process” and is looking forward to participating in the convention. Another inside source told the Daily Mail that Barron is “very knowledgeable for someone his age” and is “also far more politically interested than people realize. […] I see all the attributes of a future President if he has the appetite for it. And why not? He has the Trump genes.”
