Authorities have raided the home of President Donald Trump’s failed assassin, 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks.
The FBI identified the shooter, who was killed during the attack, as police raided the suspect’s home in Bethel Park, Pennsylvania.
Locals were advised to remain in their homes while law enforcement searched the property, witnesses revealed.
The New York Post first identified Crooks as the suspected shooter on Saturday night.
The FBI later confirmed Crooks’ identity early Sunday, after declining to do so during a press conference.
The federal agency also described it as an assassination attempt.
As Americans still come to terms with the shocking attempt on Trump’s life, details are beginning to emerge that paint a picture of the gunman’s motivations.
Federal Election Commission (FEC) records show that Crooks made a political donation of $15 through ActBlue on January 20, 2021 – Democrat President Joe Biden’s inauguration day.
He made the donation using ActBlue, the Democrats’ progressive donation clearinghouse, to the Progressive Turnout Project.
The left-wing organization describes itself as being “dedicated to mobilizing the Democratic Party and defending democracy.”
In donor records, he listed his occupation as unemployed and listed the address descended upon by police.
Public records also reveal that both of his parents are licensed counselors.
His father owns a firm providing disability services.
Records suggest that his mother is a registered Democrat and his father is a registered Libertarian.
The family purchased their home in 1998.
Members of the Crooks family have yet to comment on the attack.
The shooter was killed by the Secret Service after shooting Trump in the ear.

The 20-year-old lived with his parents at the Bethel Park home.
Neighbors reportedly told reporters that the family keeps to themselves.
They said the mother is disabled and is often seen clinging to her husband to walk.
She was reportedly sitting in the street Saturday night on a lawn chair brought out by police.
The Secret Service did not show up to the press conference.
During the presser, an FBI official acknowledged it was “surprising” that the shooter managed to plant himself on a rooftop.
The event itself had strict security with metal detectors and other measures at the entrance.
He was also able to fire off several shots before being stopped by the agency.
FBI Special Agent in Charge Kevin Rojek said the Secret Service “needs to answer that question.”
On Saturday, Crooks opened fire from a rooftop 130 yards from where Trump was on stage addressing thousands of fans in Butler at 6:15 pm.
Footage of the moment shows Trump suddenly grabbing his ear as blood poured down his face after at least eight shots were fired in his direction.

The crowd began screaming and fleeing the venue as Secret Service agents swarmed around the 45th president as he was injured.
But in a show of strength, Trump emerged from the cover of the suited agents and, in a truly historic moment, raised a fist, shouting: “Fight, fight, fight!”

He was ushered away from the chaotic scenes and sent to hospital.
Crooks had killed a member of the crowd and critically injured two others before he was gunned down by the Secret Service.
The shooter was killed after he fired from an “elevated position” outside of the outdoor rally venue, according to the Secret Service.
Images show at least four members of law enforcement surrounding the bloody gunman and the rifle he used on the roof, while they point their guns towards his body.
Following the shocking incident, Trump was then seen just hours later walking down the stairs of his plane, Trump Force One, in Newark, New Jersey.
His deputy communications director Margo Martin posted the video to X with the message: “Strong and resilient.”
