Trump Holds “Very Good” Phone Call with Ukraine President Zelensky

Sources close to the Ukrainian President indicate the conversation went “exceedingly well.”

Former President Donald Trump confirmed he spoke with Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky Friday, one day after accepting the Republican presidential nomination.

“President Zelenskyy of Ukraine and I had a very good phone call earlier today,” Trump wrote. “He congratulated me on a very successful Republican National Convention and becoming the Republican nominee for President of the United States.”

Trump said Zelensky “condemned the heinous assassination attempt and remarked about the American people coming together in the spirit of Unity during these times.”

“I appreciate President Zelenskyy for reaching out because I, as your next President of the United States, will bring peace to the world and end the war that has cost so many lives and devastated countless innocent families,” Trump wrote on Truth Social Friday evening.

“Both sides will be able to come together and negotiate a deal that ends the violence and paves a path forward to prosperity.”

Earlier Friday, MSNBC appeared freaked out over the call, worried it signals Trump’s possible return to the White House.

It’s unclear which side initiated the phone call, but it comes as the Democrat Party is urging US President Joe Biden to give up his 2024 reelection bid in favor of another less-senile* candidate.

News of the phone call followed the final night of the Republican National Convention, where in a keynote speech Trump noted there would be no war between Ukraine and Russia if he were president.

During last month’s presidential debate, Trump criticized Joe Biden for gifting Zelensky hundreds of billions of US taxpayer dollars, saying, “Biden is giving $200 billion or more to Ukraine. That’s a lot of money. Every time Zelensky comes to this country, he walks away with $60 billion. The greatest salesman ever.”

Likewise, vice presidential running mate J.D. Vance is believed to share Trump’s sentiments, saying in 2022, “I don’t really care what happens to Ukraine one way or another.”

Speaking to the BBC earlier this week, Zelensky seemed unconcerned by the prospect Trump could be reelected, saying it would be “hard work, but we are hard workers.”

However, at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute in Washington on Tuesday, Zelensky said, “I can’t tell you what he will do, if he will be the president of the United States … we need answers.”

Interestingly, the phone call comes as cybersecurity company Crowdstrike on Friday experienced a significant global outage affecting various industries worldwide.

In the infamous “perfect” phone call with Zelensky, for which Democrats impeached Trump, the former president mentioned Crowdstrike as possibly being the owners of the DNC servers he wanted the Ukrainian president to help investigate.

“Now the Crowdstrike CEO simulates a mass blackout one day after Trump secures the Republican nomination after the assassination attempt failed,” noted citizen journalist @ultrafrog17 on X.
