A school in Thailand’s Trat province will be closed for almost a week and is switching to online learning amid concerns about heavy rain and strong winds.

Laem Ngob Witthayakhom School in Laem Ngob district announced on Monday all classes at the school will be called off from Tuesday to Friday and courses will be taught online during the period.

The school said it had made the decision as strong winds are expected for days this week.

Trat continues to be one of the provinces hit hardest hit by heavy downpours and flooding. Khao Saming district is one of the inundated districts, while the situation in Muang district is improving.

The Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Department on Monday issued a warning of flooding and flash floods in six provinces including Trat. Districts to be affected include Laem Ngob, Muang and Klong Yai.
