The horrifying events unfolded in the early hours of August 31 in Irondequoit, a town located near Lake Ontario in the suburbs of Rochester. The Irondequoit Police Department (IPD) was initially called to respond to a fire in a residential neighborhood. Upon arrival, officers discovered the bodies of four individuals inside the burning house. Investigators quickly determined that the victims had been killed before the fire was set.
The victims have been identified as Famime Ubaldo, 30, Marangely Moreno-Santiago, 26, and their two children, Evangeline Ubaldo-Moreno, 4, and Sebastian Ubaldo-Moreno, 2. Their brutal murders have shocked the local community, and authorities are still working to uncover the full details surrounding the crime.
IPD Chief Scott Peters described the crime scene as one of the most horrific he has encountered in his 32-year career. “Half of their family is gone, in an instant. This was a horrific scene. In almost 32 years of doing this job, I’ve never seen anything like it,” Chief Peters said during a press conference.

Pimentel Soriano, who is also reportedly wanted in the Dominican Republic for a separate murder committed in 2019, allegedly entered the United States illegally through Puerto Rico. According to the IPD, Soriano obtained fraudulent New York identification after entering Puerto Rico, which allowed him to travel freely to the U.S. mainland.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the case and are searching for additional suspects who may have been involved in the killings. While further details remain limited, the IPD emphasized that the investigation is ongoing.
