Adelson has now given $100 million to the group, exceeding the $90 million she and her husband gave to support Trump in 2020.
GOP megadonor Miriam Adelson, the wife of the late casino magnate Sheldon Adelson, put $95 million into her pro-Trump super PAC, Preserve America, last quarter, according to a report filed with the Federal Election Commission Tuesday afternoon.
The massive influx of funds brings Adelson’s total giving to the group to $100 million this year and is sure to make her one of the largest donors this cycle.
She is one of several billionaires bankrolling pro-Trump groups that have emerged as major spenders in the past few months in the face of Trump’s fundraising deficit with Vice President Kamala Harris. Wyoming banking heir Tim Mellon had given $125 million to another pro-Trump super PAC, Make America Great Again Inc., as of the end of August. And Tesla CEO Elon Musk is linked to a third super PAC, America PAC, that will file its own FEC report today before midnight.
Preserve America PAC spent $92 million through the end of September, per its latest FEC report. It has primarily funded TV advertising across the Blue Wall states of Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania, according to the firm AdImpact, which tracks political advertising.
The $100 million Adelson has put into the group so far already exceeds the $90 million that she and her husband gave to a pro-Trump super PAC in 2020.
Adelson also gave another $5 million in the third quarter to the GOP-affiliated Senate Leadership Fund, according to its Tuesday filing, bringing her total contributions to that group to $15 million this year.
