It seems that, like pretty much all of us, Liam Neeson has a soft spot for Pamela Anderson.

The two stars teamed up for the upcoming Naked Gun reboot.

In the reboot, Neeson takes on the role of Frank Drebin Jr., who is likely the son of Leslie Nielsen’s iconic Frank Drebin character.

Anderson, meanwhile, portrays a ‘femme fatale,’ a fitting role for the actress known for her glamour and wit.

However, despite his acting chops, Neeson expressed some uncertainty about his comedic abilities, humbly sharing: “Whether I can carry it or not, I honestly don’t know.”

Naked Gun producer Seth MacFarlane, who starred alongside Neeson in A Million Ways to Die in the West, was instrumental in convincing Neeson to take on the role in the reboot.

“He approached me about it: ‘They are going to reboot it, would you be interested?’ I thought, ‘Yeah, I would actually,’”

Neeson shared. Known for his action roles, Neeson’s comedic turn in Naked Gun marks an exciting shift as he claims he’s retiring from action films in 2025.

Fans will still get to see Neeson in action one more time in his upcoming film Absolution, releasing November 1.

In it, he portrays a former boxer dealing with chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) who seeks redemption through reconnecting with his estranged daughter.

While grappling with his diagnosis, Neeson’s character also battles a few ‘bad guys,’ offering a classic Neeson dose of grit and action before he transitions from the genre.

With Naked Gun, Neeson steps into a new chapter of his career while celebrating collaboration and friendship with Anderson.

While it may seem unusual to pair the Barb Wire icon with the actor famous for portraying Oskar Schindler, it turns out they shared plenty of laughs during filming.

“With Pamela, first off, I’m madly in love with her. She’s just terrific to work with,” Neeson revealed to People.

“I can’t compliment her enough, I’ll be honest with you. No huge ego. She just comes in to do the work. She’s funny and so easy to work with. She’s going to be terrific in the film.”

And it seems as though Neeson isn’t just all talk when it comes to complimenting his female co-stars.

Neeson has previously advocated for fairness in the entertainment industry, especially on issues like the gender pay gap.

In a 2018 interview with the Associated Press, he called Hollywood’s wage disparity ‘f***ing disgraceful.’

“We started it,” he said. “So we have to be part of the solution.”

However, when asked if he’d accept a pay cut to ensure a female co-star received equal pay, Neeson responded: “Pay cut? No, no, no, no, no. That’s going too far.”

Luckily, Anderson was equally complimentary about her experience on the Naked Gun set, sharing with People that Neeson has strong comedic skills.

“It was hard to keep a straight face in scenes together,” said Anderson, author of ‘Love, Pamela,’ adding that she found him to be ‘humble.’

She went on to call Neeson ‘the perfect gentleman’ who ‘sincerely looked after me — wrapped his coat around me when I was cold.’

Anderson described the experience as an ‘absolute honor,’ praising Neeson for bringing ‘respect, kindness, and depth of experience’ to his work.

In return, Anderson made homemade bread and cookies for her co-star, leaving them in his dressing room as tokens of her gratitude.
